LIVIND Pilot Projects
Sustainability plan for the Varėna Mushroom Festival, Lithuania
The LIVIND pilot project in Lithuania aimed at concrete proposals and recommendations that increase the sustainability of the popular Varėna Mushroom Festival, an event that has taken place since 1987. The pilot project consisted of workshops, participatory field-work, and network meetings involving also local policy levels. As outcomes of the project, recommendations for 'Strengthening cultural and ecological sustainability in Varėna Mushroom Festival' was published. In addition, a video about the networking stakeholders of the event with their viewpoints was produced. You can watch the video on the YouTube channel of Lithuania's National UNESCO Commission.
