LIVIND Meeting in Riga, June 2023

The second ‘in-real-life’ meeting of the LIVIND project, an event to mark the 20th anniversary of the 2003 Convention, will be held in Riga, Latvia, on 12–13 June 2023. We will discuss and review our joint progress in the LIVIND project. We are especially looking forward to hearing about our Pilot Projects – about their actions, perspectives on sustainability, and results! Our meeting programme builds on keynote speeches, related workshops, and numerous LIVIND pilot project presentations.

This event is acknowledged as an event to mark the 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage!

In this meeting in Riga, we will discuss and review our joint progress in the LIVIND project and its themes, the interlinks between living heritage and sustainable development.

Read the meeting summary here.

During our time together, we plan to focus more on the connections between ICH and CCIs (that is: Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries) while bearing in mind ethics and balancing between sustainability aspects of safeguarding living heritage. We are especially looking forward to hearing about our Pilot Projects – about their actions, perspectives on sustainability, and results!

Our meeting programme builds on keynote speeches, related workshops, and numerous LIVIND pilot project presentations (scroll downwards for details).

We are expecting participants from across our project area, from Nuuk, Greenland all the way to Katowice, Poland, to gather in hopefully wonderful summer weather right next to the old town area!
